Manta Rays at SOCORRO ISLANDS MEXICO PACIFIC OCEAN LIVE ABOARD February 2025

I travelled with the DCM group to La Paz Mexico where we boarded a 26 passenger live aboard for a 24 hour passage to the remote Revillagigedo Archipelago 400 nautical miles East of Baja California.

La Paz is buzzing with tourists plenty of night life, tequila bars and opportunities to get into trouble.

We boarded the liveaboard at Cabo San Lucas about a 2 hour drive from La Paz international airport

The harbour abounds with exclusive power boats and displays of wealth.

Having spent 2 nights waiting for the group who were delayed was enough before boarding the Aggressor for the overnight voyage to the Western extent of Mexico -really remote but the chance to dive with giant Pacific Manta rays, sharks whales and an abundance of fish species.

The waters were a pleasant 21 degree and fairly calm allowing for close encounters with the both the Chevron and Melanistic ray which typically has a wing span of 5 metres but can expand to 7 metres.
